Google OAuth
Sign in via Google's secure authorization page. Patriot Mail never sees your Google password - only a limited access token is issued.
Help
Patriot Mail supports two ways to connect a Gmail account: Google OAuth (recommended) and App Password. This guide covers both options and common troubleshooting steps.
Option 1 - Recommended
OAuth lets Google authorize Patriot Mail directly. No password is shared and access can be revoked from your Google Account at any time.
Go to Settings, then Accounts, then Add New Account and choose Gmail.
You will be sent to Google's sign-in page. Sign in and approve the permission request for Patriot Mail.
Google redirects back to Patriot Mail and your inbox starts loading automatically.
Option 2 - Alternative
Google App Passwords let you create a separate password for third-party apps that connect via IMAP. Your main Google password stays unchanged and the app password can be revoked independently.
Google requires two-step verification before App Passwords are available. Enable it in your Google Account security settings if you have not already.
Visit Google Account App Passwords, choose "Mail" and your device type, then click Generate. Copy the 16-character password shown.
In Patriot Mail, go to Add New Account, choose Gmail or Other, enter your Gmail address as the username, and paste the App Password in the password field. Do not use spaces.
Troubleshooting
OAuth failed
OAuth sign-in must be completed in one continuous flow. Go back to Add Account and start a fresh attempt if the first one failed or timed out.
IMAP access disabled
Gmail disables IMAP access by default on some accounts. In Gmail, open Settings, then See all settings, go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP, and confirm IMAP access is enabled.
App Password rejected
App Passwords require two-step verification on your Google Account. If it was disabled since you generated the password, re-enable it and create a new App Password.
Still stuck?

Managing access
Sign in to your Google Account and visit myaccount.google.com/connections.
Find Patriot Mail in the list and click Delete all connections. The access token is revoked immediately.
Go to Google App Passwords, find the password created for Patriot Mail, and click the delete icon. The password stops working immediately.
