Yahoo OAuth
Sign in via Yahoo's secure authorization page without sharing your password. Patriot Mail only receives a limited access token.
Help
Patriot Mail supports two ways to connect a Yahoo Mail account: OAuth (recommended) and App Password. This guide walks through both options and explains what to do if sign-in is not working.
Option 1 - Recommended
OAuth lets Yahoo authorize Patriot Mail without exposing your password. This is the preferred method.
Go to Settings, then Accounts, then Add New Account and choose Yahoo.
You will be sent to Yahoo's sign-in page. Sign in and approve the permission request for Patriot Mail.
Yahoo redirects back to Patriot Mail and your account is connected automatically.
Option 2 - Alternative
If OAuth is not working or you prefer a manual setup, Yahoo App Passwords let you create a separate password for third-party apps. Your main Yahoo password stays unchanged.
Yahoo requires two-step verification before App Passwords are available. Turn it on in Yahoo Account Security if you have not already.
In Yahoo Account Security, open Manage app passwords. Give the password a name (for example, Patriot Mail) and copy the generated password.
In Patriot Mail, go to Add New Account, choose Other or Yahoo manual, enter your Yahoo email address as the username, and paste the App Password in the password field.
Troubleshooting
OAuth failed
If the OAuth page shows an error, go back to Add Account and start over. Session tokens expire quickly and each attempt must be completed in one go.
Keeps asking to sign in
In Yahoo Account Security under External connections, check whether Patriot Mail is listed. If it is listed but broken, remove it and connect again.
App Password rejected
App Passwords are only available when two-step verification is active. Check Yahoo Account Security and make sure it is enabled before generating a new password.
Still stuck?
If neither method works, email support@patriotmail.ai and include the error message, your device type, and whether you are using OAuth or App Password.
Managing access
You can revoke Patriot Mail's access to your Yahoo account at any time without deleting your Yahoo account or password.
Sign in to Yahoo and go to Account Security at login.yahoo.com/account/security.
Find Patriot Mail under External connections and click Delete. This immediately revokes the access token.
Under Manage app passwords, find the password you created for Patriot Mail and click Remove. The password stops working immediately.
