Create an app password
In Fastmail settings, under Privacy & Security, create an app password for mail. Your normal password will not work in an email app.

Connect Fastmail with IMAP
Fastmail works well with Patriot Mail and any IMAP email app. The one thing to know: Fastmail does not accept your normal login password in mail apps, so you create an app password once and use that instead.

Open Fastmail settings
Sign in to Fastmail in a browser and open Settings, then Privacy & Security.

Create an app password
Add an app password for mail (IMAP/SMTP) and copy the generated password.

Use it in the email app
Paste that app password into the password field here.
Step by step
Add Fastmail to Patriot Mail

Open Add Account
Go to Settings, then Accounts, then Add New Account.

Enter your Fastmail address
Type your full email address. Patriot Mail fills in the Fastmail server settings for you.

Enter the app password
Use the app password you generated, then continue.
Other apps
Add Fastmail to Apple Mail on iPhone or Mac

Add a new account
On iPhone open Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account. On Mac open Mail, then Settings, then Accounts. Choose Other Mail Account.

Enter your details
Enter your name, your full Fastmail address, and the app password. Enter the servers by hand if needed.

Enter the Fastmail servers
Incoming (IMAP): imap.fastmail.com. Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.fastmail.com. Username is your full email address.
Fastmail server settings
- Incoming (IMAP): imap.fastmail.com, port 993, SSL
- Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.fastmail.com, port 465, SSL
- Username: your full Fastmail address
- Password: an app password from Fastmail settings
If it will not connect
- Use an app password, not your normal login password.
- Check the address is typed correctly with no spaces.
- Confirm the servers are imap.fastmail.com and smtp.fastmail.com.
