Connect Libero Mail with IMAP

Libero Mail (libero.it) works with Patriot Mail and any IMAP email app. Two things to know: the incoming server has a slightly unusual name, imapmail.libero.it, and if you have two-step verification on you need an app password instead of your normal one.

If two-step is on

Create an app password

With two-step verification on, generate an app password in Libero settings and use it here instead of your normal password.

Otherwise

Your normal password

Without two-step verification, your normal Libero password works in the email app.

Server settings

imapmail.libero.it

Incoming imapmail.libero.it on port 993 (SSL). Outgoing smtp.libero.it on port 465 (SSL). Username is your full email address.

Create an app password

Open Libero settings

Sign in to Libero Mail in a browser and open the settings.

Generate an app password

Create a secure app password for email programs and copy it.

Use it in the email app

Paste that app password into the password field instead of your normal password.

Step by step

Add Libero to Patriot Mail

Open Add Account

Go to Settings, then Accounts, then Add New Account.

Enter your address

Type your full libero.it address. Patriot Mail fills in the Libero server settings for you.

Enter your password

Use your normal password, or the app password if two-step is on, then continue.

Other apps

Add Libero to Apple Mail on iPhone or Mac

Add a new account

On iPhone open Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account. On Mac open Mail, then Settings, then Accounts. Choose Other Mail Account.

Enter your details

Enter your name, your full libero.it address, and your password (or app password). Enter the servers by hand if needed.

Enter the Libero servers

Incoming (IMAP): imapmail.libero.it. Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.libero.it. Username is your full email address.

Libero server settings

  • Incoming (IMAP): imapmail.libero.it, port 993, SSL
  • Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.libero.it, port 465, SSL
  • Username: your full libero.it address
  • Password: your normal password, or an app password if two-step is on

If it will not connect

  • Confirm the incoming server is imapmail.libero.it, not imap.libero.it.
  • If two-step verification is on, use an app password, not your normal password.
  • Check the address is typed correctly with no spaces.
