Connect T-Online Email with IMAP

T-Online (Telekom) works with Patriot Mail and any IMAP email app. The one thing to know: Telekom uses a separate password for email programs, which you set once in your Telekom account, and the servers are the secure ones at t-online.de.

Step one

Set an email-program password

Telekom uses a dedicated email password for external apps, set in your Telekom account, separate from your web login.

Then connect

Use that password here

Sign in with your full t-online.de address and the email password you set.

Server settings

secureimap.t-online.de

Incoming secureimap.t-online.de on port 993 (SSL). Outgoing securesmtp.t-online.de on port 465 (SSL). Username is your full email address.

Open your Telekom account

Sign in to your Telekom account (Kundencenter) in a browser and open the email settings.

Set an email password

Set or reset the password for email programs and enable access for external mail apps.

Use it in the email app

Use that email password in the password field here.

Step by step

Add T-Online to Patriot Mail

Open Add Account

Go to Settings, then Accounts, then Add New Account.

Enter your t-online.de address

Type your full email address. Patriot Mail fills in the secure T-Online servers for you.

Enter your email password

Use the email-program password you set, then continue. Your inbox starts loading.

Other apps

Add T-Online to Apple Mail on iPhone or Mac

Add a new account

On iPhone open Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account. On Mac open Mail, then Settings, then Accounts. Choose Other Mail Account.

Enter your details

Enter your name, your full t-online.de address, and your email password. If Apple Mail cannot verify it automatically, enter the servers by hand.

Enter the T-Online servers

Incoming (IMAP): secureimap.t-online.de. Outgoing (SMTP): securesmtp.t-online.de. Username is your full email address.

T-Online server settings

  • Incoming (IMAP): secureimap.t-online.de, port 993, SSL
  • Outgoing (SMTP): securesmtp.t-online.de, port 465, SSL
  • Username: your full t-online.de email address
  • Password: your Telekom email-program password

If it will not connect

  • Use the dedicated email password, not your Telekom web login.
  • Check the address is typed correctly with no spaces.
  • Confirm the servers are secureimap.t-online.de and securesmtp.t-online.de.
