Turn on IMAP access
Enable IMAP in Yandex settings under email clients. Until you do, every email app is refused.

Connect Yandex Mail with IMAP
Yandex Mail works with Patriot Mail and any IMAP email app. Two things to know: IMAP access is off by default and must be turned on in Yandex settings, and if two-factor authentication is on you need an app password instead of your normal one.
Step 1 - Required
Turn on IMAP in Yandex

Open Yandex Mail settings
Sign in to Yandex Mail in a browser and open Settings.

Open the email clients section
Go to the section for email clients (IMAP/POP).

Turn on IMAP access
Enable IMAP access and save, then continue in your app.
Step 2 - Only with two-factor authentication
Create an app password
If you have two-factor authentication on, your normal password will not work in an email app. Create an app password in Yandex ID. If you do not use two-factor authentication, skip this step and use your normal password.

Open Yandex ID security
In Yandex ID, open the security section for app passwords.

Create an app password for mail
Generate an app password for email and copy it.

Paste it into the email app
Use the app password in the password field instead of your normal password.
Step by step
Add Yandex to Patriot Mail

Open Add Account
Go to Settings, then Accounts, then Add New Account.

Enter your Yandex address
Type your full email address. Patriot Mail fills in the Yandex server settings for you.

Enter your password
Use your normal password, or the app password if two-factor is on, then continue.
Other apps
Add Yandex to Apple Mail on iPhone or Mac

Add a new account
On iPhone open Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account. On Mac open Mail, then Settings, then Accounts. Choose Other Mail Account.

Enter your details
Enter your name, your full Yandex address, and your password (or app password). Enter the servers by hand if needed.

Enter the Yandex servers
Incoming (IMAP): imap.yandex.com. Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.yandex.com. Username is your full email address.
Yandex server settings
- Incoming (IMAP): imap.yandex.com, port 993, SSL
- Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.yandex.com, port 465, SSL
- Username: your full Yandex email address
- Password: your normal password, or an app password if two-factor is on
If it will not connect
- Confirm IMAP access is switched on in Yandex settings.
- If two-factor is on, use an app password, not your normal password.
- Check the address is typed correctly with no spaces.
