Email addresses that look right but do not exist
Some addresses look completely normal and still cannot receive mail, because nobody hands them out. If you were told your address does not exist, one of the mistakes below is nearly always the reason.
The usual mistakes
What people type, and what it should be
Read the end of your address out loud, letter by letter. That is where the mistake almost always is.
A country was added
- icloud.co.uk should be icloud.com
- me.co.uk should be me.com
- outlook.co.uk is usually hotmail.co.uk, live.co.uk or outlook.com
- googlemail.co.uk should be googlemail.com
A letter is missing or wrong
- gmail.co should be gmail.com
- gmial.com and gmai.com should be gmail.com
- hotmail.con should be hotmail.com
- yahoo.co should be yahoo.com, or yahoo.co.uk in the United Kingdom

Check the ending
Compare the part after the at sign with the one on this page. If it matches a mistake here, use the correction next to it.

Look at an old message
Open something the mailbox has received before, on a phone or a computer, and read the address it was sent to. That is your real address.

Ask someone who writes to you
Family and friends have your address saved. What they have is the one that works.
Adding your account
Patriot Mail checks the ending for you
When you add an account, Patriot Mail looks at the part after the at sign. If it is one of these addresses, you are told before anything is tried, with the correct ending offered so you can fix it in one tap.
