Forwarding and Hide My Email addresses
Some addresses are real, receive mail, and still cannot be added to an email app. They are forwarding addresses: they pass mail on to a mailbox somewhere else, and that mailbox is the one to add.

Apple Hide My Email
- Ends in privaterelay.appleid.com
- Forwards to your iCloud mailbox
- Add your icloud.com, me.com or mac.com address instead
DuckDuckGo, SimpleLogin, addy.io, Firefox Relay
- Ends in duck.com, simplelogin.io, addy.io, anonaddy.me or mozmail.com
- Forwards to whichever mailbox you gave the service when you signed up
- Add that mailbox instead
Step by step
Add the mailbox behind the forwarding address

Find where it forwards to
For Hide My Email it is your iCloud address. For the others it is shown in the forwarding service, next to the address it gave you.

Add that address
In Patriot Mail choose Add account and enter the mailbox address, not the forwarding one.

Carry on as before
Mail sent to your forwarding address arrives in that inbox, so you keep the cover and still read everything in one place.
